I had a beautiful view looking down the aisle at Empress Estates. The sweet spring air was warm, and I was locked in on Katelyn and Michael as they read their vows. A few bridesmaids began wiping away a few stray tears, and my vision was getting a little blurry as the raw, authentic love was opening up a new chapter of their lives.
It had been a whirlwind of planning and hard work (paired with lots of patience and excitement!), but it was finally the day when Katelyn, who thought she would never fall in love, would marry the man she had fallen head over heels for!
Katelyn and Michael’s little girl (Lulu- their ADORABLE yellow lab), is at the heart of their new little family, and they made sure she was a part of their day. Decked out in a cute, custom-made bandana, she came down the aisle right before her mama Katelyn walked in to marry her dad.
The Empress Estates is such a lovely and versatile wedding venue. It was my first time there, yet they gave me every reason to come back, as the owner and staff were all top notch, making sure that Katelyn and Michael had everything they needed for their special day.
I adored the preppy blue Lulus bridesmaid dresses, paired with the gorgeous mixed bouquets that Marisa with Revel Petals made!
As the toast began, it was very obvious how much of an impact Katelyn and Michael had made on their friends and family. One of my favorite MOH toasts to date was given by Brianne- Katelyn’s sister. Clutching carefully handwritten notes, she shared how much she adored Katelyn as a big sister, and how she couldn’t see her with anyone else, but Michael- who had become like a brother to her.
It was inspiring to hear how much of an impact Katelyn had made on her little sister, and it reminded me of my sweet little sister…and how one day that might be one of us up there sharing memories, and laughing about the things we did as kids. It was so special to watch the memories and love that they shared.
When the DJ cued up the music, the adorable little ring bearer was the first on the dance floor, with the adults slowly following his example. Then, there was Katelyn’s grandma. When I’m older, I hope to be as spunky as she is (she ruled the dance floor pulling off some fabulous moves)!!
Katelyn and Michael (you’re probably sitting on a beach in Thailand!), when I think of you two, my heart is overwhelmed with gratefulness- I love you guys! From our first interactions several months ago, I knew you two were a KM couple, and I could not be more excited for you to enter this new chapter of life as husband and wife!
