It was time.  Kally waited years for this day, and now it had come.  The music had started, and the door she had walked through so many times, was about to be walked through again.  This time, to marry Joel.

Taking hold of her Father’s arm, Kally started slowly down the aisle with her feet clad in her grandfather’s cowboy boots. As she made it nearly halfway toward the love of her life, she looked up to see him wiping tears from his face.  This was the day HE had dreamed about, too, and it was finally here.

Kally and Joel met at the Camp Jonah, worked at Camp Jonah, married at Camp Jonah, and now they are going to live at Camp Jonah as husband and wife.

Needless to say, Camp Jonah had, and continues to play a HUGE part in Kally and Joel’s life!

There were also so many little things that made their day so special, and just right for the two of them. When I was doing portraits of Kally, the bridesmaids were so cute, oooohiing and cheering her on, while making jokes with her the entire time.  It was so thoughtful of Joel to bring his wife-to-be hand warmers to stick in the pockets of her dress (because it was freezing!).  And during the reception, it was so evident how much Kally and Joel had been active in the kids’ lives at Camp Jonah, as there were many young children who came up to them to hug and congratulate them.  It was so neat to see their obvious investment in them, and how excited the kids were for their friends!

I loved every minute of Kally and Joel’s wedding, yet one of my favorite parts of the day was at the beginning, with their ‘first look’… it was the sweetest!  Joel was a little choked up the first time he saw his beautiful bride, which made it a very tender moment… one of my favorite first looks to date!

Kally and Joel, thank you for letting me help celebrate your special day with you!  I am so excited to see where God takes you in life, now together.
