3 Questions Every Couple Should Ask When Booking a Wedding Photographer

My cousin who got married a few years ago was devastated by the job her photographer did. It just hurts to see that, because it’s an incredibly important event that only happens once.

Choosing your wedding photographer can be one of the hardest vendors to pick. They are the ones bringing the story of your wedding day to life. Because after the flowers die and the guests go home, your marriage and pictures are the most valuable memory keepers left!

I’m committed to making sure my brides have the best photos- pictures that they can look through over and over again and relive the best day of their lives over again.

Ones that they’ll be excited to hang on the wall of their new home. And to put in an album that they’ll be able to show their friends and future kiddos the day were it all started.

So if you’re committed to having good pictures from the most important day of your lives, these are the three biggest things you want to make sure of

1. Do you like their style?

The way they edit photos, their poses, etc. For an example, my style is light and airy. I’m a people-centred photographer so I focus on making your skin look natural and fresh. I love natural poses and making sure you and your fiance feel comfortable and have fun is my #1 priority.  I get it! It can feel a little weird to be in front of the camera, but my clients come away feeling so confident and our times together are always a blast! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard my clients come after their wedding telling me how easy it was and how much of a good time they had! Here’s what one of my couples said about our time together:

Sometimes having pictures done can feel super awkward but Kelby was so friendly and easy to work with! She was so full of joy and made us feel so comfortable. She was super helpful with posing and still feeling natural!Kelby was a joy to work with – her energy and love for photography shines through and she really makes this such a fun experience!”

You’re choosing a photographer for their creative style, and it’s important that you understand their style so you can be prepared and fully know what to expect on your wedding day.

2. Do you understand their pricing structure?

Know exactly what you’re paying for… hours, how many photographers, how many pictures per hour, etc. And you may notice that some photographer’s pricing are more complicated than others, so do not be afraid to ask questions until you understand it completely. I love simplicity, so I made my pricing structure easy so from Grandma to flower girl- anyone can understand it! I only offer packages that take care of your whole wedding experience, from an engagement session to giving you enough coverage time for all the import parts of the wedding day. Not only does it cover your entire day, but you’ll be able to easily add albums and parent albums to any package your choose!    If you’d like to find out more about my pricing structure use the form at the end of this post to get in touch!

3. Do you like and trust them?

This is huge! You are going to be with your wedding photographer more than your future husband on your day, so you want to make sure they are a 110% fit with your vision and your personality.  You and your wedding photographer will work the very best if you can trust them. Once you know that you love their style and work, leave them to what they do best – capturing your day as it unfolds! One of my favorite couples told me how they felt about working with me!

You are incredible! Thank you for capturing the moments that made me feel the emotions through your photos. You are seriously incredibly talented-I’m so very glad that we were able to work together.
