Tears streamed down her cheeks as she listened to the words being spoken over the mic. Her new husband sitting to her left, gazing thoughtfully at her. She gently picked up her napkin and dabbed her face. Her Maid of Honor (her older sister) was proposing a toast. Her emotions welled up inside her. She was leaving her home and her family soon. According to her older sister, she would leave a great hole… not only in her sister’s own life but also in the lives of her nieces and nephews.
She would be greatly missed.
The whole day was a worship of God and what He had done for their lives- especially during the ceremony, when everyone’s voices filled the old Portland church, harmonizing as hearts came together in worship. “Amazing love, how can it be, that thou my God shouldst die for me” rang through the entire building.
It was an incredible sight and feeling as Alberta and John sang, together with the congregation, to their Savior… right before they pledged their life to one another. Their ceremony was so heartfelt as God was praised throughout the entire time with singing and spoken word.
John is from Texas, yet he met Alberta at a homeschool alumni event in Oregon. Over their long-distance relationship, their love blossomed, and they finally became engaged after a proposal at the beach.
When it came time to send out invitations, John incorporated his and Alberta’s heritage into the invitations! He drew Oregon foliage on the front and Texan foliage on the back! Not only is John a creative artist, but a very detailed one! Be sure to take a look at their gorgeous invitations!
Alberta and John, thank you so much for including me on your special day… It was such a joy and honor to celebrate your love!
Incredibly detailed artwork!
Ahhh! John did an excellent job picking out the ring!!
