Today we’re going to discuss how to write the perfect Maid of Honor Speech! If you’re the MOH you’ve probably known the bride for a long time, shared many memories and have been her right hand throughout the wedding process.
There is one part of being the Maid of Honor that some dread- and that’s the speech…After hearing many MOH speeches, I put together my best tips just for you on how to write the perfect MOH toast!
Start with a story. Sharing a favorite past memory about the bride whether (appropriately) funny, or sweet, is a great way to start off any speech.
Talk about what most stood out to you as a friend/sister, then transition to what you first thought about the groom when he came into the bride’s life. You could either share a few appropriate comments the bride told you about the groom when she first met him, or get specific on how they compliment each other as a couple!
Maybe give a few tips to the groom about the bride (i.e. don’t talk to her until she’s had her coffee in the morning or remembers that she’ll forget her purse everywhere, so always keep an eye out for it!).
Then wrapping it up with your toast by giving a blessing (i.e. may you always kiss each other good night and have many fun adventures together!) or if you want to keep it easy and simply say “to (bride name) and (groom name)!”
I hope that helps give you some ideas as you write a post to your BFF’s wedding!!
If you have any tips or thoughts of your own, I’d love to hear them!
