I was amazed at first sight. Dawson had picked out a beautiful bridge location surrounded by fiery fall trees. It was a place he had been many times, with several fun memories throughout the years. Once, when he was younger, he (might or might not have) even climbed to the tip TOP and wrote his name on the old abandoned bridge.
I have to admit, I’m not terribly afraid of heights, yet seeing the churning water flow angrily beneath us made my stomach flip (just once)! Thankfully we lost nothing to the river, and I loved every minute of shooting on such a beautiful bridge.
As I look back on the shoot, each place Dawson chose represented a part of what he enjoys. With a dream to work and play outdoors, everything he chose including the lake, represented his joy of nature.
Dawson also spends a lot of his time in sports (again, outdoors!). And although he enjoys football, swimming, hunting and fishing, his very favorite is baseball… the All-American game! In his spare time, Dawson is also very involved in 4-H (we used to be in the same club together!)… and since he was young, he has shown steers, chickens, turkeys and swine at the Clatsop County fair.
Dawson, thank you so much for letting me celebrate your upcoming graduation by photographing your Senior pictures! I was very impressed by the locations you chose and certainly enjoyed our time together. Congratulations on entering your Senior year!!
