Do you have a boyfriend?
Are you planning to go to college?
And do you like living at home?
These questions I am asked repeatedly, usually in the same conversation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At my age, it’s completely normal questions to be asked, but for me, my answers are nothing but off the track.
Sometimes this world put boxes around people, assuming them to go down the “expected road” of life. Moving out after high school, going to college and maybe having a “special someone” in your life.
I’m not here to say that any one of those are bad, yet I hope we don’t presume that everyone wants to do that.
The ones I applaud are the ones who take the road which is right for them.
So for several reasons, I don’t have a boyfriend. (And I’m not looking for one, thank you!)
College is not off the table, I really love what I do and so I like to say it’s on hold at the moment.
And yes, I still live at home and love it! At this time in life, it’s the best choice, but to be honest I’m not planning to live there forever.⠀⠀⠀
So to you, I say, don’t allow normalcy bombard your dreams, nor what you are called to do and be.
Don’t be afraid to color outside the lines…
Nahh. We’re gonna make our own lines.
